Indonesia have so many variety of food, and this are Buras Oncom & Rempeyek i love it, i can buy it everyday if i want because the seller is often passed in front of my house every morning.
I just dont know how to explain all of this with my own words so i took some descreption from wikipedia :)
Buras is a type of rice dumpling cooked with coconut milk packed inside a banana leaf pouch. Buras is made by steaming the rice until half-cooked, then cooking further in coconut milk mixed with daun salam (Indonesian bay leaf) and salt until all of the coconut milk is absorbed into the rice. Then the half-cooked coconut milk rice is wrapped inside banana leaves in cylindrical or pillow shapes, secured with strings made from banana leaf fibers (or any kind of string). Usuallty two cylinders of burasa are tied together as one. The rice packages are then steamed further until completely cooked. (source from wikipedia).
This buras filled with oncom inside, oncom is one of the traditional staple foods of West Javan (Sundanese) cuisine, Indonesia. There are two kinds of oncom: red oncom and black oncom. Oncom is closely related to tempeh; both are foods fermented using mold. (source from wikipedia)
Usually my mom buy this when we have a long trip to somewhere, because maybe we can get hungry during our way and we still far away from the destination it is enough to reduce hunger during the trip.
WHAT IS REMPEYEK?
Rempeyek or peyek is a deep-fried savoury Javanese cracker made from flour (usually rice flour) with other ingredients bound or coated by crispy flour batter. The most common types of rempeyek are peyek kacang or peanuts granules peyek; however, other ingredients might be used also, such as teri (dried anchovies), rebon (small shrimp) or ebi (dried shrimp). Today rempeyek is commonly found in Indonesia and Malaysia. (source from wikipedia)
This one is Rempeyek Kacang (peanuts)
I like to eat buras with rempeyek, it taste good, i like Peanuts Rempeyek and Teri(dried anchovies) Rempeyek. If you are in Indonesia and want to try buras and rempeyek usually you can find them at traditional market or some bakery shop if they sell it.

Wow the first one looks delicious!! I really enjoyed reading about the different foods. I would love to try this one day. But I'm not sure if there's any good Indonesian places near where I live.
